How To Prevent Google From Indexing Images In WordPress?

Posted by

Sometimes we do not want to share our images in Google search engine then we need to take care of these points:

1) To prevent Google from indexing images by placing this code into blog’s header file above the </head> tag.

<meta name=”robots” content=”noimageindex”>

2) If blog has a problem with people taking content including images then there is a chance Google will still index images when they index that person’s website. Another way you can take is to place images into a folder then add a disallow to your Robots.txt file.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /images/

As a WordPress users this is fairly easy as by default images in either Images folder of the theme or the uploads folder In this case, we can add this code to Robots.txt file:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /images/

User-agent: *
Disallow: /uploads/
