How to convert existing categories into tags or vice versa?

There are some plugins for this task; however wordpress itself provide you such tools that you can accomplish this task. This feature is available in both wordpress.com and wordpress.org.

One can do this using the steps mentioned below:

1)     Login to your wordpress dashboard.

2)     Go to Tools à Categories and Tags Converter.

3)     Select the tags or categories you want to convert.

4)     Click on Convert.
